Hello, I’m Naomi<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Hello, I\u2019m Naomi, a Japanese writer and the founder of Two Country Life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I created this site to share the real, everyday differences between life in Japan and life in Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through my relationship with my Australian partner and many visits to Australia, I began to notice how differently our two cultures approach daily life.
Things that feel completely normal in one country can feel surprising in the other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These discoveries became the starting point for this website.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Life Between Two Cultures<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Japan and Australia are both developed countries, yet the way people live can be very different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • food culture and daily meals<\/li>\n\n\n\n

    Japan often values harmony, subtle communication, and social balance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Australia, on the other hand, values openness, independence, and direct communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Neither way is right or wrong \u2014 they simply reflect different cultural values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Living between these perspectives has helped me understand both countries in a deeper way.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    I was born and raised in Japan and have spent most of my life here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Before becoming a writer, I worked for 14 years in Japan\u2019s caregiving industry, supporting elderly people and their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    That experience gave me a deep understanding of Japanese society, family culture, and daily life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Why I Started Two Country Life<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Many articles about Japan are written by visitors or short-term travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    While those perspectives are valuable, they sometimes miss the deeper cultural context behind everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    As someone living in Japan and connected to Australia through my partner, I wanted to create a place where readers can explore the real cultural differences between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Not stereotypes.
    Not just travel guides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    But honest observations from life between two cultures.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
